Tindaya, Fuerteventura - village information

Tindaya, a small, sprawling village with lots of open space for walking and mountain biking and with spectacular views to the sea. It is close to La Oliva and only 20mins by car from Puerto del Rosario (the island capital), 25 mins to the airport, 20 mins to Corralejo (a bustling seaside resort) and 15 mins from the beautiful fishing village and beaches of El Cotillo.
Dominating the landscape in Tindaya is ‘Montana de Tindaya’, a sacred place for the indigenous people of the island and where important archeological remains have been found, such as ‘podomorphs’ - carvings representing shapes of human feet.
Tindaya has a stunning beach. It is never busy since many people that even live on the island cannot find their way along the tracks; a well kept secret!
Locally produced goats cheese can be purchased from the local shops in this rural, farming village.
Amongst its facilities, Tindaya has: a Church, Junior school, 3 Shops, 3 Bars, Plaza with children’s playground, Football Ground, Cultural Centre (providing activities for all ages), regular buses to Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario...
"Real village life! It's peaceful, unspoilt and retains its 'Canarian feel'. It has most of what you need and what it deosn't have is only a short distance away. There is a great community spirit amongst all the lovely people that live here."
